MUSIC
Melancholic down- and mid-tempo songs from the more "reflective" side with borrowings from electro-pop and trip-hop beats. For all those for whom EDM music and techno parties are too hectic, but electronic chillout and lounge music is too well-behaved... We grew up in a time of great musical diversity. Every genre had its place and was made accessible to a broad public. Nowadays, most platforms are not really geared towards discovering new music unless you pay for it or have the backing of a major label. Due to this circumstance, we would like to remind people with our music that niche music also has a right to be heard by anyone without barriers.
ABOUT
Stepfield, an indie electro-pop project from southern Germany, is the result of a long-standing musical partnership between songwriters and sound designers Bernd Rösler and Andreas Schönenberger. Although they only officially formed as a band in 2019, their musical connection goes back to their school days together. After moving apart, the two initially pursued different musical paths. While Andreas focussed on new wave, electro and techno and honed his skills in mixing and electronic music production, Bernd immersed himself in music theory and was involved in various pop and musical projects. Thanks to a cultural festival in their hometown and a few beers later, they decided to revitalise their musical synergies and resolutely counter the current trend of convenience music...

Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, our project has evolved into an international collaboration that takes place exclusively virtually. Talented singers, video, audio and graphic artists from all corners of the world are now working with us to bring our musical and visual ideas to life.

SONGS
The creation of a song not only involves our own ideas and backgrounds, but also the stories, characters and personalities of the artists themselves. It's like a big creative online party where the most diverse influences come together and merge into a collaborative overall work.
VIDEO
The visual component has always been at the centre of our music, as our songs are based on images or stories that went through our heads during the songwriting process. That's why videos and visuals are an integral part of our overall concept. If you want to know what we're talking about, come to our shows or take a look at our videos on YouTube.
EVENTS
From time to time we also want to see how you enjoy our music and who you are.
Of course, the best way to do this is for you to come along to our shows so that we can present our music to you in an appealing atmosphere. The next date will be announced here in time.
CONTACT
If you have any ideas, requests or just want to leave us a message, please use our social media channels. We look forward to every message.
For the artists among you:
We are always on the hunt for new creative minds who want to support us in the further development of stepfield. Whether singer, lyricist, video artist, social media expert...we look forward to hearing from you!
THANK YOU
Stepfield would not have been possible without the support of so many talented artists. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all the artists who have helped bring our vision of Stepfield to life. You are amazing and we hope to continue working with you.
